My name is Lisanne. I grew up in The Netherlands where I went to school and studied Communication Science. In the summer of 2012 I met my husband and moved to the UK.
I worked for a couple of charities in communications, fundraising, and housing before having my first daughter. It's been a huge learning curve and also a huge privilege and joy! I love being a stay-at-home mum and have since been blessed with another daughter.
I enjoy exploring the outdoors, teaching my girls Dutch, having cups of tea with friends, doing jigsaws, and I love learning new things.
Caring for others is something I love. Just in the little things like looking out for those who need a meal, or need a listening ear, or helping out around the house those with little ones. I don't mind smelly nappies or your dishes in the sink!
I would love to meet you and chat about how I could support you in the months ahead. If you'd like to find out whether I'm the right doula for you, do get in touch.
Many parents prepare nurseries, shop around for baby gear and attend birth classes, but have you thought about how life will be once baby arrives?
I can help you think through recovery, managing relationships, support and other areas essential for your postnatal time.
I can support you in preparing for your postnatal time, either over the phone, online or in person. A one-hour session costs £25, or you can book this as part of your Postnatal Support time.
Once your baby arrives I can support you at the hospital or at home to settle in with your new baby.
This might include baby care, supporting feeding, some light housework, cooking, debriefing your labour, supporting your rest and recovery, and other ways I can walk alongside your family during the early weeks.
Ideally, before your baby arrives we meet to explore your postnatal plan and so I can get to know you and your family better.
I am currently a mentored postnatal doula so I offer a discounted fee of £20 an hour.
We all make different choices about how we feed our babies. I'm here to support you in how you would like to feed your baby. I have experience in breastfeeding, bottle feeding and expressing.
This support will be offered as part of my normal doula services.
I am currently training as a Breastfeeding Counsellor with the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM).
I do not offer and charge for standalone breastfeeding support.
